Location: Cadboro Bay Position Type: Full-Time Heart Pharmacy Group is seeking an organized, customer-focused, and hands-on Lead Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at our Cadboro Bay Pharmacy location. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant who enjoys taking on additional responsibility, supporting their team, and helping keep the pharmacy running smoothly. Job Summary The Lead Pharmacy Assistant will support the Pharmacy Manager with day-to-day pharmacy operations while providing guidance and support to the pharmacy assistant team. This is a hands-on role in a small, collaborative pharmacy where you will play an important part in keeping workflow organized, supporting your teammates, and providing excellent patient service. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Work closely with the Pharmacy Manager to support daily workflow and address staffing or operational needs. Delegate tasks to pharmacy assistants and coordinate lunch breaks and daily coverage. Assist with pharmacy assistant scheduling and ensure shifts are appropriately covered. Support the onboarding and training of new pharmacy assistants. Support timekeeping through Payworks and assist with biweekly timesheet sign-offs. Act as a daily point of contact for the pharmacy assistant team and help keep workflow running smoothly. Oversee wholesale medication orders, inventory counts, and dead drug disposal. Coordinate injection scheduling and processing of injection fees, including supporting the pharmacy during vaccine season. Partner with accounting on inventory, billing, and accounts receivable inquiries. Report medication errors and near-misses to a licensee for submission through Pharmapod. Pharmacy Responsibilities Provide friendly and professional service to patients at prescription drop-off and pick-up. Accurately enter prescriptions and patient information into Kroll and PharmaNet. Support pharmacists with prescription filling and labeling. Prepare oral solutions, ointments, and creams under pharmacist supervision. Prepackage bulk medications for compliance patients and nursing homes. Answer and screen telephone calls, directing clinical questions and other inquiries to the appropriate team member. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy workspace. Restock pharmacy supplies and maintain organized work areas. Support the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy and assist wherever needed to keep workflow moving efficiently. What You Bring Minimum 2 years of pharmacy assistant experience in a pharmacy environment. Experience working with Kroll is an asset. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Previous experience supporting or training other pharmacy assistants is an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member. Comfortable taking initiative and helping coordinate day-to-day workflow.
