Position Overview:

The Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Territory Manager will call on Electrophysiologists, Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Program Managers, Hospital Administrators, Purchasing Departments, and other Hospital stakeholders, to sell and provide pre and post-sales support for Abbott CRM products in the assigned territory. Additional responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, developing territory business plans, analyzing territory market dynamics and growth opportunities, attending Regional, National and International conferences. The CRM Territory Manager is also responsible for assisting customers in utilizing Abbott CRM products during Pacemaker, Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy and Insertable Cardiac Monitor procedures and providing training on CRM procedures, Abbott CRM leads and related products.



  • Development of a strategic business plan to achieve the revenue and expense goals for the region.
  • Establish a market leadership position for all Abbott CRM products that you will be responsible for.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the region.
  • Implement the marketing programs and strategies that are created by the Marketing Division in a way that meets the needs and requirements of the Canadian market.
  • Provide continuing clinical support and sales support to established Abbott CRM accounts. Working with sales and management team to develop long-term relationships.
  • Attend CRM procedures involving Abbott products and assist by facilitating proper use of products, and through collaborative problem solving, to optimize outcomes.
  • Communicate with relevant Abbott managers and functional specialists to ensure necessary alignment and support for all RFPs, account plans, and sales activities.
  • Provide educational services to medical staff and allied health professionals, on subjects related to CRM procedures and fundamentals.
  • Contribute to Clinical, Training and Education and Sales Organizations as a speaker/trainer, developer of training materials and/or Technical Memos on new technologies (including competitive products).
  • Working with the Regional Manager in the CRM Division to establish and meet the financial goals of the Division.
  • Assess likely account potential and generate sales forecasts for territory.
  • Will help identify market trends and provide customer intel to contribute strategic action plans.
  • Gather information about customer organizations, their healthcare business models, values, strategies and operating principles.
  • Manage customer contract compliance.
  • Attend trade shows where new products and technologies are showcased and conferences to meet other sales representatives and clients and discuss new product developments.
  • Maintain open collaboration and communication with all product divisions and functional areas within Abbott to promote synergies.


  • Coordinate clinical evaluation of products where appropriate to optimize adoption of Abbott CRM products.
  • Organize educational services to medical staff and allied health professionals, on subjects related to clinical CRM.
  • Support and promote Abbott and/or HCP research projects, clinical studies, and product registries.
  • Maintain open collaboration and communication with all product divisions and functional areas within Abbott to promote synergies.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Completed Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree, or related technicaldegree.
  • Successful candidate should have 3+ years sales experience in medical device industry, preferably in cardiac space.
  • Conversant in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proven track record of delivering sales results.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to travel within territory with some travel outside of territory as required.
  • Strong administrative skills to maintain and improve divisional processes for the management of physical inventory located within assigned territory.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers, physicians, hospital administrators, government agencies, medical groups, and other sales representatives.
  • Travel approximately 50%.
