Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) is Canada's national life sciences venture, powering the country's life sciences industry by creating and growing companies of scale –and training the scientific and business talent needed to drive them to become leading global anchors in Canada. CDRD builds collaborations with the very best partners from academia, industry, patient foundations, the investment community, and other key opinion leaders to provide the specialized expertise and infrastructure to identify, validate and advance promising discoveries, and transform them into commercially viable investment opportunities for the private sector —and ultimately into new therapies for patients.

Reporting to a Venture Partner, the Business Development Analyst will play a critical role in the success of CDRD's product development and product commercialisation programs through the identification of data sets/sources and identifying market opportunities to position and advance projects. The Business Development Analyst will develop market models that reflect historic trends to enable predictive modelling for an evolving marketplace. The Business Development Analyst will work closely with all aspects of the business to ensure outputs are comprehensive in nature, and present their findings to support the commercial decision-making process.

The successful candidate will have five years experience in business development and/or management consulting in combination with data analytics for biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical companies. The successful candidate will be a data expert with a track record of identifying and accessing data sources to establish analytic plans required to characterise a disease and/or therapeutics and generate actionable recommendations and strategic insights. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a degree in engineering and/or data science with strong business acumen. A Master of Business Administration is preferred.

CDRD encourages employees to strike a healthy balance between their work and personal lives. At CDRD, our human resources practices and strategies have been developed to create an inclusive culture regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital or family status, or disability.
