SCOPE:
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Lead Hand, is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse operations; leading the warehouse team in ensuring the accurate and timely shipment and receipt of products, maintaining proper inventory levels, and overseeing the unloading of shell trucks and allocation of seed to appropriate storage bins. This role also involves coordinating with freight companies to manage and track secure domestic and international shipments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with coordinating, monitoring, and updating the status of pick-up and delivery of shipments by obtaining freight quotes and tracking inbound and outbound products for customers as needed.
Supervise in the unloading and loading of all trucks and ensure the completion of accurate shipping/receiving manifests by team members.
Oversee the receiving/loading of hemp seed in all weather conditions, including setup, seed sampling, monitoring/removal of material, data entry, and cleanup.
Ensure team compliance with customer specifications by verifying all shipping orders have the appropriate documentation.
Lead the effort to request and follow up on missing documentation and information from internal teams, freight forwarders, and agencies, ensuring timely resolution.
Monitor and update shipment status; follow up on the pick-up of shipments.
Lead interactions with logistics service providers to effectively coordinate the movement of goods.
Submit appropriate paperwork promptly and accurately for each shipment as needed.
Lead efforts to maintain a clean and organized workspace/warehouse, both indoors and outdoors, and complete required forms per BRC.
Supervise the accuracy of warehouse inventory by leading weekly cycle counts and monthly audits, ensuring team compliance with inventory procedures.
Lead the inspection of all incoming shipments to ensure they meet Fresh Hemp Food Ltd.’s quality requirements and directing corrective actions as needed.
Oversee the supply of plant production with materials according to the weekly production/packaging schedule and warehouse transfers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Deliver/transfer incoming goods to the appropriate requestor/area.
Ensure warehouse team complies with company standards for Safety, GMPs, SOPs, and BRC Certifications.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1-2 years of previous Lead or supervisor shipping/receiving or warehouse experience, including forklift certification.
Familiarity and comfort with the use of computers (MS Office).
Experience in preparing both domestic and international shipping documents is preferred.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and the ability or willingness to learn to drive a 5-ton truck is required.
Flexibility to work out of our Winnipeg location if required and to work extra hours when needed.
