Job Summary

The Technician, Calibration, is responsible for providing calibration services and for maintenance and calibration of plant instrumentation, including completing associated documentation required in a GMP environment. This role is a key contributor in the maintenance department and works closely with the team leader to continuously improve our calibration programs to meet compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the continual review of calibration programs to ensure that they are reflective of current practices and initiate the required changes through the established changed control procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all calibration issues are properly transferred shift-to-shift.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the production equipment is calibrated according to the specifications set in the Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Liases within the Validation and Maintenance teams and to resolve calibration issues; reports on the calibration status of equipment.
  • Responsible for acknowledging when a deviation report is required and providing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • To diagnose problems with the equipment and utilities for repair solutions.
  • Responsible for Contractor's activities, as assigned, ensuring and company policies are followed and all work is done in a compliant manner.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Minimum High School Diploma and College Diploma in Calibration Technology, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to supervise and direct calibration related projects.
    • Ability to organize and plan tasks.
    • Proven dependable level of knowledge towards Departmental SOPs, cGMP compliance, and GDP.
    • General to advanced computer operating skills.
    • The ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
    • The willingness to upgrade knowledge/education as required.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • General working knowledge of distributed control systems, specifically Delta V.
  • Experience
    • Minimum one year experience with calibration, validation or an electrical background.
