General Description of Role:
Responsible for the administration of Quality Assurance functions as they relate to raw material and finished product testing to achieve customer product specifications inclusive of routine microbiological testing and results analysis and general administrative duties. Provide coverage for sick and vacation days to both plant locations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Inspection/collection of incoming raw materials, dry ingredients and finished product for microbiological, chemistry tests and other tests, sending samples to internal or external accredited laboratory.
  • Inspection/audit of incoming raw materials, dry ingredients and packaging by conducting weight / count measurements and organoleptic analysis for conformance as per Food Safety and Quality Manual.
  • Monitor SOP's (Standard Operating procedures), personal hygiene, product handling (raw materials, in process or finished) for temperatures, weights, shapes, injection, cook up and other product specifications.
  • Observe and coach plant employees to comply with GMPs.
  • Update and maintain the Visual Quality Standards database for raw materials.
  • Perform monitoring and verification of various tasks based on HACCP program and Food Safety and Quality Manual
  • Verify production and HACCP reports for accuracy and follow up with production department when needed.
  • Investigate the customer complaints as required and provide this information to QA Manager.
  • Maintain the lab, work areas and equipment clean at all times.
  • Assist QA Manager and HACCP Coordinator in special projects updating programs and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Currently enrolled in College education in food related field of study
  • Computer literacy: Basic level spreadsheets, word processing, and statistics
  • Basic Knowledge of safe food handling, GMP's
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external relationships)
  • Detail-oriented, observant
  • Effective Time Management
  • Organizing and planning
