This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology.

The Integrated Supply Chain Senior Manager partners with internal business functions and external suppliers to balance cartridge demand and supply that improves on-time delivery, optimize operation and inventory, and reduced total costs as well as supply risks. It supports development of business unit growth opportunities as well as cartridge operational cost reduction initiatives. The position is located at Ottawa with ~4 direct and ~6 indirect reports and reports to Director, Global Supply Chain. Creating and meeting short and long-term end-to-end cartridge supply chains goals to support our customers and business requirements through management of the planning and direct material purchasing globally. Sets strategic direction for the materials organization in procurement and supply planning, and production of goods and services for the production site. Leads key supply chain strategic and tactical initiatives. The organization achieves this through balancing numerous conflicts and constantly changing elements, e.g. customer demand, inventory investment, production capabilities, changing business needs and strategies, regulatory requirements, new product landscape, technology changes and supplier capabilities. Interface with upper management including Director, VP and DVP in Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance and R&D. Provide key financial input on decisions that will drive the strategic/tactical direction of the business unit.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of approximately 10 direct and indirect reports supporting 24/7 operations at Ottawa.

  • Balance demand and supply to meet global customer requirements at service level of higher than 98.5% and achieve business unit inventory target.

  • Responsible for assigned product line inventory projection, strategy, execution, and short/long term planning including raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods. Monitor and recommend modifications to manufacturing forecasts to optimize customer product supply service levels and days on hand finished goods inventory globally.

  • Lead Capacity modeling.

  • Monitor supply performance and collaborate with Strategic Procurement Manager, Manufacturing and Quality to address any supply gaps

  • Work proactively with commercial areas and plant operations during times of product allocation and develop contingency plans, manage communication with senior management on revenue impact as required and also manage communication between marketing/sales & manufacturing operations.

  • Lead monthly and weekly production/supply scheduling meetings with plant manufacturing, adjust the detailed scheduling based on the production outputs and demand variation, review and approve plant's detailed scheduling plan. Manage ~5 planners, including training, mentoring, goal setting and performance review.

  • Participate in the integrated business planning process with the manufacturing team, provide inputs to the executive S&OP meetings

  • Lead or support global Supply Chain improvement projects and execute supply chain policies/strategies set by Global Supply Chain Senior Director

  • Establish and execute new product launch supply scenarios in collaboration with Commercial, R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing

  • Collaborate with Abbott affiliates globally to develop local/regional supply strategy as well as processes and improve the service to OUS customers.

  • Optimize use of MPS/MRP tools and develop appropriate tools for data analysis and metrics

  • Travel requirement: 15%

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years supply chain or operation experience required, preferably in healthcare or other highly regulated industries, experienced with quality systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Supply Chain, Operation or Engineering; APICS certified preferred.

  • Strong planning experience is a must.

  • Strong MPS/MRP knowledge with detailed understanding of how to optimize master data setting that optimize the planning.

  • Experience working in a global environment required; experienced with international distribution and business development preferred.

  • Self-motivated and strong leadership to challenge status quo.

  • Demonstrated process improvement skills.

  • Ability to make business decisions under uncertainty.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stake holders, effectively work and communicate in matrix global organization (sales, marketing, plant, warehouse, customer service, etc.)
