The role of Specialist Commercial Operations (SCO) will be as an administrative communication liaison between the field Sales team and internal/external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include contracts, marketing, technical support, customer service and logistics. External stakeholders may include customer integration (Winshuttle), event coordination, lead allocation and validation. In addition to supporting the sales team and internal processes, the Commercial Operations role also includes tracking of commercially sensitive purchase orders (SAP required) and evaluation/pilot project logistics.

  • Develop and enable a process that allows for the setting of accurate credit limit(CL) ranges (based on customer type) and CL increase management.
  • The SCO will liaise with cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, OEC, Marketing, Finance, etc.) to ensure that all documentation meets Abbott’s Legal, Compliance, and Finance policies. The SCO is responsible for proactively managing documentation for new agreements, tracking the status of documents as they move through the negotiations and approval process, and triggering renewals with existing vendors.
  • The SCO will also be a key support resource to support the execution of key operational initiatives. They will ensure ADC meets certain operational commitments with customers and outside agencies (ie. RFSO, Fed/Prov, Environmental Stewardship reporting, pharmacy banners).
  • The SCO will contribute to the successful delivery of projects by ensuring the delivery of key activities required from the Commercial Operations Team.

  • Develop, update and apply the MSA/SOW SOP for the division. Ensure that all
  • new employees are trained on the SOP application and follow process in place;
  • Liaise with Legal team to ensure ADC’s documentation is always meeting Legal
  • and compliance standards (plan and leads legal context meetings)
  • Liaise and closely work with cross-functional divisional teams (Marketing,
  • Finance) to ensure high standards and compliancy
  • Coordinates filing and payments for Government programs ex. Provincial Stewardship programs. Liaises with external consultants to ensure ADC is aware of new/pending requirements and maintains compliance
  • SCO can take on many support roles to ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects within the division

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Business Administration (BA or B.Com) in Operations, finance or Marketing
  • 1-3 years of broad administrative experience preferably in areas of sales operations, account management, category management and trade Marketing.
  • Must be bilingual (French/English) oral and written
  • Able to lead by influence and is a strong communicator both with internal & external stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors that support Abbott Leadership Competencies.

  • Facilitate information sharing and a teamwork approach.
  • Project management and process mapping.
  • Negotiation with third party vendors.

  • Superior skills working with Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Word).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and management multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Canadian Retail landscape an asset
  • Working with field-based teams
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with healthcare related products
  • Ensuring adherence to Ethics, Compliance, and Legal guidelines and processes.
  • Understanding of Financial processes (PO, accruals, payment terms).
