JOB FUNCTION OVERVIEW

The Associate Director of Data Management, manages and leads all aspects of  the data management aspects of clinical trials along side the Director of Data Management. This position is responsible for mentoring data management team members and managing study deliverables  to deliver and  facilitate client management and team / task coordination from study start-up, ongoing management, and closeout for clinical trials and/or registry projects. This role is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and taking on new and challenging projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement procedures for effective data management.
  • Contributing to the ongoing management of department budget, KPIs and KRIs
  • Monitoring team workload, the upcoming study pipeline and escalating resource needs and allocation
  • Managing team training and supporting performance management activities
  • Working with study leads to set and manage timelines to ensure deliverables are met throughout study start-up, launch and close-out
  • Reviewing documentation and external communications when needed
  • Serve as a liaison and department representative for cross functional initiatives and trainings
  • May also serve as the Senior Data Manager on designated projects. In these roles, the Manager, Data Management maintains a close relationship with client contacts, Project Managers, and collaborates with other various departments to implement the data management aspects of project delivery.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc. or recognized equivalent in Health or Science related field or equivalent experience
  • Clinical Research Postgraduate Certificate and knowledge of ICH-GCP preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in healthcare / pharmaceutical industry with 3 years in a supervisor role preferred
  • 4+ years of experience with line management / team coordination
  • Experience with EDC (use and/or configuration)
  • Basic understanding of CDISC (CDASH, SDTM)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of web-based technologies and browsers
  • Passion for clinical research
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Perceptive listening skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment
