Summary

To manage all health, safety security and environment within the plant and ensure overall compliance. Implement and maintain Health and Safety Environment management system.  Liaision with various government agencies to maintain various permits.

Responsabilities

  • Ensure respect for local Health, safety & environment local and regulatory standards as well as Global guidelines
  • Ensure that existing programs are followed up and properly updated. ( WHMS, log out tag out ) 
  • Identify, assess and document Health, safety & environment risks in the workplace, recommend corrective actions  and develop the risk management program
  • Ensure that Health, safety & environment training plan is implemented, updated and communicated
  • Be a contact person with government Health, safety & environment agencies and others auditors. ( insurance,  fire department, MDDEP, etc…)
  • Assist Engineering department for Health, safety & environment into new capital projects and change control management.
  • Assess and communicate Health, safety & environment risks related to new products (API)  and assist Commercial department for Health, safety & environment of NPI
  • Ensure to maintain building security program
  • Follow up accidents/incidents and ensure investigation with the management team
  • Manage Health, Safety &environment committees
  • Develop and update the safety manual
  • Develop schedules and budgets for Health, safety & environment new projects
  • Work closely with all departments
  • Develop and ensure sustainability measures with the help of engineering department and managers
  • Identify and resolve Health, safety & environment issues impacting operations
  • Provide updates monthly safety reports, audit follow-ups, analyze various data and communicate sustainability reports to Global according to deadlines
  • Encourage employees and management to focus on Health and safety culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science
  • Proven management skills
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in Health, Safety & Environment position.
  • Pharmaceutical or similar experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Analytical problem solving
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovation
  • Knowledge of computer and software skills an asset
