BRIEF DESCRIPTION

NEOMED-LABS is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) offering high quality immunology laboratory services to support Phase I to Phase IV vaccine clinical trials. NEOMED-LABS also has a group dedicated to the production of proteins for customers specific needs.

We are looking for an experienced associate scientist in Protein Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to join our Protein Sciences platform. The incumbent will report directly to the platform's scientists and provide technical support to the group for all laboratory activities:  physico-chemical protein characterization, molecular biology and cell culture.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform molecular biology techniques and protein expression in mammalian, bacterial, insects and yeast systems and insure cell culture maintenance;

  • Protein purification using various chromatography techniques (IMAC, SEC, IEC, HIC, etc.);

  • Drive analytical, chemical and physical characterization tests to evaluate protein stability (DLS, DSF, DSC, HPLC, etc.);

  • Analyze results and maintain lab books;

  • Based on data interpretation, suggest the next steps to meet project objectives;

  • Identify problems, troubleshoot , and modify strategy accordingly;

  • Follow-up on laboratory material;

  • Participate in the preparation of slide deck for clients.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Master degree in biochemistry/molecular biology or relevant Life Science degree with at least 5 years' experience in the Pharma industry or CRO;

  • Solid knowledge in protein characterization;

  • Experienced in protein chemistry (expression and purification);

  • Ability to drive many projects in a timely manner;

  • Team player and client oriented;
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills;

  • Problem solving skills;

  • Reliable, motivated and detail-oriented;

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (French/English).
