The President and CEO will have the functions, responsibilities, powers and duties inherent to his position and will report to the Board of Directors.
His responsibilities will include:
defining and executing a high growth strategy that will transform the company in a world leader in the clinical immunology field
ensuring R&D projects execution at a best in class quality standard
forming research alliances with world class academic groups, governmental bodies and developing partnerships with tier one companies and organizations active in the immunology field including prophylactic infectious vaccine manufacturers, oncoimmunology biopharmaceuticals, governmental bodies and NGOs
leading a team of 70 scientific experts and developing a reputation for excellent sciences and entrepreneurial success
ensuring a profitability level that will be sufficient to make our business sustainable on the long term
Requirement and working conditions
The position requires a triple education and the applicant must have:
a Pharmacy doctoral degree (PharmD) and, when relevant additional qualifications and trainings required to head a company with a pharmaceutical status
a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology, or biotechnology
a MBA or an AMP graduation from a tier one business school or university
The educational cursus of the applicant ensures him a perfect command over clinical development and financial matters and an equal capability to lead scientific and financial due diligence, discussions, and transactions. FSA or equivalent accreditation is a plus.
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience at a partner or CXO level in the consultancy or investment banking field and of 10 years in a CEO position. The applicant must be in a situation to prove that he:
has started his career in research and is knowledgeable in research project implementation and research team management
has been instrumental in the design and implementation of over 10 clinical development programs
developed an unrivaled expertise in high growth-related issues management and financing
is a deal-making expert and has led the negotiation of a significant number of >$10m strategic partnerships, fund raisings, and M&A transactions
led the transformation of a company into a global leader and headed a Contract Research Organization with over 100 employees
The applicant is bilingual (spoken, written) in French and English. German language is a plus.
The applicant must be ready to spend a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks a month traveling outside Canada.
Salary offered: $250,000 to $350,000 based on experience. Eligible to a discretionary bonus performance according to achievements.
Benefits include: health insurance up to $5,000/year + stock options equivalent to 5% of the company's capital stock + reimbursement of travel expenses + 20 days of vacation per year.
