ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Transfusion Medicine, you will act as Héma-Québec's consultant and ambassador with hospital medical teams for all product lines. You will forward the clinical needs and areas of focus of our hospital partners to the Transfusion Medicine Division.

More specifically, you will need to:

  • Develop a client-oriented and personalized approach with hospital medical teams. You will define their needs, objectives and strategies to be deployed in order to strengthen Héma-Québec's role as a partner;
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with all clients by conducting visits and regular communications as well as through other means deemed appropriate in order to anticipate issues or situations on both sides;
  • Follow up on the clinical requests or issues of clients on an ongoing basis and maintain close relationships with hospital client services or any other relevant sector;
  • Obtain, prepare and transmit information to ensure that hospital clients understand Héma-Québec's areas of focus and projects;
  • Present the hospital perspective internally in terms of any Héma-Québec project that might have an impact on our partners;
  • Monitor needs and trends in transfusion medicine and encourage the optimal use of blood products by hospital medical teams;
  • Plan, organize and facilitate meetings, committees and events with clinical partners. If required, you will give presentations on scientific content at these events;
  • Perform all other duties related to the position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical science, biochemistry or other scientific field, or college diploma in medical laboratory technology with relevant experience (e.g. management, marketing or public relations);
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience including a minimum of 5 years in the field of transfusion medicine;
  • Very fluent in French and English, both oral and written;
  • In-depth knowledge of good clinical practices;
  • Proficient in the use of primary tools and software (Microsoft Office);
  • Willingness to travel within Québec and occasionally outside Québec and Canada;
  • Any combination of education and experience deemed relevant will be considered for staffing purposes.
