A significant position with various responsibilities:

In close collaboration and under the supervision of EVAH Corp. R&D management you will be responsible for the planning, management, execution and analysis of EVAH Corp technology development. You will ensure that studies are carried out while respecting the scope, objectives, costs, deadlines and regulatory issues early on.

  • See to the deployment of new technologies and methodologies: prepare and keep up to date a scientific literature review; develop hypotheses and write research plans; develop study and validation protocols; see to the smooth running of the experiments according to the protocols; manage data collection and analysis; prepare and review reports; oversee the scientific and technical training of team members; see to the optimal management of projects (human, material and financial resources).
  • Supervise studies and experiments in the laboratory (located in Saint-Hyacinthe): see to the appropriate use of documentation tools; oversee the implementation of standard procedures; fostering relationships and a harmonious work climate; mentor, support and develop team members; act as a resource person for problem solving.
  • Support the management team in the realization of various projects: participate in the writing of grant proposal and funding requests; act as a scientific and industrial R&D expert with partners.
  • As the guardian of excellence, ensure the respect and application of procedures and protocols by all team members and external collaborators.

Your profile and experience :

  • PhD degree in biochemistry, microbiology and/or immunology, or another related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years work experience in the recombinant protein production industry, industrial microbiology, biotechnology, or other related fields. Proven experience in the management of scientific research projects, considering both the human aspect, cost, time, and quality constraints. Relevant experience in coaching and motivating a small team of professionals to achieve the objectives set by the organization, while promoting the attraction, retention, and mobilization of team members.
  • Very good scientific knowledge in protein biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology. Very good knowledge of laboratory techniques in microbiology and protein purification. Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and its use. Excellent knowledge of biosafety and good laboratory practices in microbiology.
  • Excellent command of the French and English languages, both oral and written (bilingual). Very good knowledge of statistical analysis and scientific data management tools. Very good knowledge of the Office Suite [Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint] and office automation tools.

Please note: Although this role can be in part done in telework mode, frequent and regular trips are required to our laboratory located in Saint-Hyacinthe. Occasional trips are also expected to our laboratory in Laval.
