The holder of the position will, under the supervision of the Quality Control Director, perform testing of GMP samples, in-process samples, and finished for all ongoing projects. This position requires competent understanding and ability to perform techniques such as HPLC, GC and UV spectrophotometry.

The scope of responsibility for this position crosses multiple departments within IntelGenx (e.g. Quality Assurance, Production, etc.); therefore, the incumbent needs to collaborate with various departments and external laboratories.

Responsibilities:

  • Test day-to-day samples provided by GMP production based on priorities
  • Performed QC testing on in-process, product, stability and/or research sample and produce reports
  • Report any OOS, OOT results to the QC supervisor
  • Investigate out of limit test results and participate in problem solving, as required
  • Perform equipment qualification, calibrations, verifications, PMs, and repair of test equipment, as needed in-house or using service vendors
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental rules, procedures and regulations as it pertains to lab function
  • Complete and maintain the required quality records and/or documents as directed by the department standard operating procedures
  • Participate to the identification of continuous process improvement areas, in compliance with GMP processes and documentation for QC activities

Requirements:

  • 3 years work experience in pharmaceutical industry is mandatory
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry
  • Good knowledge of UPS, Ph. Eur Pharmacopeia
  • Empower software knowledge
  • Knowledge of cGMP, good documentation practices and data integrity requirements.
  • GMP experience
  • Detail and technically oriented individual
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills; good planning skills; able to multi-task
