Job Summary:


As adMare's Senior Auditor, Operations, Risk Assessment and Mitigation, you will be responsible for ensuring Business Units comply with company policies and applicable laws, as well as evaluating, mapping, and helping prioritize risks associated with operations, and designing and guiding implementation of risk mitigating strategies and tactics. In this role you will support management in establishing streamlined processes and be a supportive link for operations to understand corporate and legal requirements, as well as the risks associated with operations and the strategies and tactics being implemented to mitigate such risks. A champion of sensible and relevant internal policies and procedures, with a comprehensive view of the organization and its operations, this role will ensure internal practices and operational SOPs comply with, and place adMare in compliance with, private obligations, applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations, and will make recommendations on how to improve efficiency and benefit from cost savings. This role will also map and continually reassess risks throughout the organization, assist in the prioritization of those risks, play a key role in risk mitigation.


Responsibilities:

  • Pursue efficiency gains for the company in terms of identification, recommendation and monitoring of processes which will result in financial improvements.
  • Manage the assessment of key business risks and the adequacy of processes by which risks are evaluated, prioritized, and mitigated.
  • Review the sufficiency of information collection and processing, and the adequacy and operation of controls used to manage those risks, and designing and guiding implementation of new prudent risk mitigating strategies and tactics.
  • Review processes and systems to ensure adherence with corporate policies, plans and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, ensuring adaptation to internal and external change.
  • Evaluate corporate policies for adequacy in terms of risk management, efficiency and adaptability to changes in the business environment.
  • Develop ongoing positive relationships within all levels of the organization which includes senior management, operations management, and key business process owners.
  • Communicate results of projects and initiatives to management and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor/follow up on the recommended changes in terms of process to ensure long term sustainability.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) and a certified Internal Auditor designation are required.
  • 10+ years' experience, with significant experience leading operation audits, leading risk management assessments, and leading the design and implementation of risk mitigation strategy and tactics, preferably in the context of operations in multiple provinces.
  • Life Science industry knowledge an asset but is not required.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and to identify root causes through sound analysis.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and able to lead projects without frequent oversight.
  • Quick learner and able to understand new concepts including their application in the business.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrate eagerness for continuous improvement and willingness to take on additional responsibilities at a sophisticated level.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.

Position Base Salary Range: $111,500 - $167,200

The salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

In this case, the successful candidate for this position is required to have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written, due to the fact that the tasks to be performed include the responsibility to maintain, on a continuous and daily basis, relations with our Canadian team, whose main language of oral and written exchange is English, and to be able to discuss scientific and business concepts competently and in detail in this language.
