The Production Supervisor oversees manufacturing operations, supervision of staff and performance, process optimization, documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Formulation, Encapsulation, Finishing and packaging departments; coordinates and plan production batches to meet schedule and customer orders
  • Supervise employees (performance, training, vacation, overtime etc.)
  • Might cover for breaks and absences
  • Train new employees on GMP and SOPs and is responsible for continuous training on GMP for existing employees
  • Respond proactively to operational issues; initiate communication with other support departments (engineering, quality, maintenance, R&D) to solve issues
  • Ensure that all operations are performed according to Batch Record instruction, work instructions, SOPs, and policies
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure compliance with GMP and ensure redaction and follow up on deviation reports, CAPA, SOP and training plan; Actively participate to develop a quality culture
  • Ensure operational standards are met and action plan created if required
  • Update production documents once manufacturing is completed
  • Management and monitoring of production's KPI
  • Responsible for the application of health & safety rules and regulations
  • Back-up for this role is the Production Manager


  • BSc in Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in manufacturing or packaging experience in a GMP environment
  • Pharmaceutical experience REQUIRED
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills (including Excel, Outlook and data entry) and math skills
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English)
  • Experienced with ERP system (Root stock) is a strong asset
  • Strong leadership and decisions making skills
  • Initiate and manage change
  • Lean manufacturing training and demonstrated capability (strong asset)
  • Strong work ethic
  • Availability to work on night shift: 7pm to 7am Wednesday to Saturday week 1, Thursday to Saturday week 2 network
