ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Operations for the donor centres and mobile blood drives, the incumbent of this position plans, directs and monitors the human and financial resources assigned to the operations of the mobile drives and donor centres for the region under his/her responsibility. He/she manages, develops and mobilizes the team of supervisors for the drives and the GLOBULE Centres. He/she ensures that the operations comply with the department's regulatory standards and also ensures the efficient implementation of projects associated with achieving the performance objectives and the excellence of customer service to be provided. He/she is responsible for maintaining good working relationships and respecting the collective agreements in his/her sector. Lastly, he/she is in charge of preparing and monitoring the budgets associated with the department's operations.
•Collaborate in setting your department's annual priorities and objectives and suggest actions and/or projects for ensuring customer service excellence, while providing an environment conducive to a high-level donor experience;
•Clearly define and communicate performance objectives and indicators to your entire department to ensure that the operational and strategic vision is achieved, while developing a culture of continuous improvement and establishing good practices;
•Lead and oversee the management team for mobilizing and standardizing good management practices throughout the department in connection with achieving the objectives of Héma-Québec's strategic plan;
•Participate in the process of hiring, evaluating and developing the staff under your responsibility;
•Mobilize staff for achieving the collection, recruitment and retention objectives of the GLOBULE Blood Donor Centres pertaining to the collecting of donations by apheresis;
•Are involved in your staff's development and pay special attention to new employees;
•Ensure that, within your department, the legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and collective agreements are complied with and enforced in connection with the codes of ethics in effect at Héma-Québec;
•Actively participate as the responsible manager on the labour relations, grievance and collective bargaining committees with the various union executives;
•Prepare, administer and ensure sound budgetary and regulatory management of operations, and also do ongoing monitoring (audits, controls, procedures, etc.) by adopting the corrective measures conveyed to you by the Quality Assurance Division and the Audit and Investigations Division;
•Perform all tasks associated with your job for the effective operation of the company.
•Bachelor of Business Administration or a relevant discipline;
•At least 5 years of experience in managing unionized staff and in a regulated environment is considered an asset;
•Good knowledge of finance and management accounting;
•Good knowledge of continuous improvement processes;
•Fluent in French, both oral and written;
•Good knowledge of English, primarily oral;
•Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, knowledge of the SAP software packaged is considered an asset.
