Our team is growing! Capcium is looking for a motivated and talent Production Planner/ Buyer to join the Operations Team. 

Reporting to the Director of Production,  the Production Planner / Buyer leads inventory planning and procurement activities, inventory management and distribution support to maintain production operations and customer product availability, while ensuring financial performance, optimized service and inventory levels. This includes managing vendor performance, mitigating supply issues, planning and effectively managing stock and replenishment activities. The Buyer-Planner works closely with the Operations team to develop inventory replenishment plans that balance buy-side revenue with capital and operational targets. He/ she will be responsible for the following: 

  • Supports inventory replenishment plan and supply plans with vendors;

  • Performs required replenishment orders based on forecasts established with Demand Planning.;

  • Triggers, issues and adjusts all key orders based on forecasts with optimal impact on balanced KPIs for Service Level, Inventory Levels, and revenue generation; 

  • Identifies operation and strategic issues;    

  • Plans, foresees and communicates upcoming risks and inventory issues via pro-active management by comparing projected inventory levels with demand forecasts;

  • Demand Planning for forecast development internally and externally (suppliers and customers);

  • Works in partnership with Operations for inventory procurement impacts on the physical network and inventory/space optimization;

  • Manages overstocks, out-of-stocks, aged inventory, non-compliance and operational issues, as well as general vendor performance; 

  • Compares real and projected inventory to physical and labor capacities in order to support buying decisions;

  • Supports negotiations as it relates to inventory commitments and buys, as well as vendor management;

  • Builds strong relationships with vendors; 

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning, inventory management and procurement, replenishment; 
  • Pharmaceutical experience, a must, with Previous softgel operations experience an asset;
  • Familiar with GMP environment;
  • Bilingual French/English – Spoken and Written;
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office products (Power Point, Excel, Word, Project)
  • Knowledge of process and project management;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Demonstrated leadership;
  • Excellent partnering skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to collaborate with various levels of management and employees and work as part of a multi-functional team;
