Vetoquinol is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of animal health products, we are looking for a Strategic Account Manager for our companion animal division for the Greater Montreal area.

At Vetoquinol, our mission is to listen, understand and respond to the needs of our customers. As a Strategic Account Manager, your mission will be to manage the design, development and implementation of profitable business plans to drive growth for customers as much as for Vetoquinol. You will be responsible for developing business opportunities in the identified territory and achieving the turnover targets and profit margins set for the Business Unit. You will also be responsible for managing independent clients, key accounts and major accounts located in the identified territory.


 Turnover and profit

  • Responsible for achieving and developing the turnover and profitability of the territory, contributing to the company's EBIT objectives by achieving sales targets, and ensuring that gross margins are in-line with budget.

Development of individual strategies

  • Identifying and proactively developing new opportunities with Key Accounts and Major Accounts on the territory, whilst working cross-functionally to design and implement a customised Key Account plan that creates sustainable opportunities for sales and services.

 Customer Marketing, Services and Solutions Development

  • Responsible for proposing marketing, services and solutions requirements (in-line with Company strategy and Group policies) for the Companion Animal product portfolio, including, but not limited to:
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • New solutions and services development
  • Cross functional team working – both Canada and global
  • Monitoring of market data and market intelligence relevant to the companion animal business.

Territory Budget

  • Strategically manage a territory budget and invest to develop business opportunities:
    • Allocate to deliver the best return on investment
    • Produce business proposals to outline objectives and outcomes of spend
    • Track this budget both at sales and expense level and include comments in monthly report.

 Congresses / professional associations

  • Participate to congresses / seminars/ Key Account congresses and clinical meetings, and appropriate industry association meetings in order to network, identify new business opportunities in order to further develop the companion animal business.


  • University degree in Animal Health Science (agronomy, biology, animal science) or Administration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and territory management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the companion animal health industry
  • Experience in strategic business development and planning
  • High degree of innovation and ability to solve problems
  • Bilingual French and English written and spoken
  • Knowledge of Windows environment and other specific systems such as a CRM
  • Ability to travel (at least 55% of the time on the road)
