Job Description
The Pharmacist PharmD - Degree is accountable for performing those duties that enable pharmacy services to be provided to the staff and patients of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Pharmacist - PharmD - Degree reports to the Manager. Position Duties: The primary function of the Pharmacist - PharmD - Degree is to provide professional pharmacy services to patients in the hospital. Supporting patient care in outlying Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities is also required. Assists in operating the department in accordance with the various acts, regulations and standards set by federal, provincial and professional governing bodies, regarding the distribution and control of drugs used in institutions. Provides functional direction to the Pharmacy Technicians regarding provision of technical services of the department. Assists in maintaining the team approach to improving quality client care for staff and public education, client counseling and other related areas as needed. Has frequent contact with nursing and medical staff while performing professional duties. Consults the Manager when their function is likely to affect other departments or medical staff. Assists in the acquisition, preparation, distribution and in ensuring the safe and economical use of all pharmaceuticals in the institutions. Assists in the provision of pharmaceutical and technical services. Enhances the public image of the healthcare organization and profession by providing information to patients, students, staff, medical staff and public groups, both inside and outside the institution. Contributes to the improvement of patients quality of care through participation in interdisciplinary care teams. Pharmacist - PharmD - Degree provides clinical consultation to physicians, nurses and other allied health care professionals.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a practicing pharmacist in Saskatchewan
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work flexible hours
Proficiency in a wide variety of computer programs.
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License.

This position will report to the Manager of Outpatient Pharmacy Practice This position will be responsible for pharmacy service provision within SHA Prince Albert Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Services The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
