About the role

Fleetway’s Transition to Service department is seeking a Human Factors Specialist to join the team. As a Human Factors & Systems Integration Specialist, you will help ensure complex systems are designed with the end user in mind. Working as part of multidisciplinary project teams, you will apply human factors, ergonomics, and human-centred design principles to support system development, testing, and implementation. In this role, you will contribute to activities that improve usability, safety, accessibility, and operational effectiveness throughout the system lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to identify user needs, evaluate design solutions, and support verification and validation activities. Your work will support the design, integration, and delivery of complex marine and defence systems, including programs that contribute to the Royal Canadian Navy's future fleet of naval vessels. By helping ensure systems, equipment, workspaces, and processes are designed with the user in mind, you will play an important role in enhancing operational effectiveness and the overall user experience. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in human factors, human performance, ergonomics, user research, systems engineering, kinesiology, or related disciplines who are interested in applying human-centred design principles to complex real-world challenges.
